Fall Back Pictures, Images and Photos

Wildflowerafternoons

Okay, so it's the day after Halloween. For the first time in thirteen years, I had a quiet, I don't have to go out, fight traffic, crowds and the fright of a little kid running out infront of my car night. Yes, the teenager went off to do his own thing, not trick or treating, all he wanted was the candy, admitted he's really not into it anymore, so I told him I'd buy a couple bags today to satisfy the candy hunger and he was happy with that, LOL. So now it's time to start having Halloween Parties. *YAY*

So not sure about the rest of you, but my butt was up at 7:23 AM (Damn turning back the clocks) :-) What did I do, well, I jumped right back into bed until 8AM, LOL.

I do feel fully refreshed and rested though.

Florida's starting to cool down a bit, *YAY* it's to be in the low 80's today with less humidity and in the upper 50's tonight!! I've waited so long!! (Hand brushing across forehead)

dell mini Pictures, Images and Photos

I'm also in the market for a mini netbook. I've played with a few here and there, messed around with a Acer and A dell mini inspiration last night at Wal-Mart and went to read several reviews. I really like the key board on the dell. The buttons are just a bit larger, and felt more comfortable.

It seems the Toshiba mini has had a lot of negative feed back about the keypad being really sensitive and the mouse jumping around. That is one thing I want to avoid big time. I can't stand that.

Anyone out there have a netbook they want to share the scoop on? I'll take the Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

I need more coffee so I'm going to end here and say, Good Morning to Happy the Clock has been turned back day! You all got to sleep an extra hour and wake up earlier, LOL. :-)

Amazon VS. Wal-mart

casalo Posted by casalo at 12:41 PM on October 18, 2009 Comments comments (0)

Have you guys heard of the price wars Amazon and Wal-mart are engaging in over books? I've been following it briefly, but I have to say YAY for authors! With spending down abit because of the economy, retailers are fighting to keep their customers. So they're slashing prices or offering deals. Nothing like good healthy compatition to keep you going, LOL.

Here's an article I read at Publisher's Weekly

Retailer offering same-day delivery in seven major cities

By Lynn Andriani -- Publishers Weekly, 10/16/2009 7:55:00 AM

Amazon has fired the most recent shot in the pricing war with Wal-Mart that broke out Thursday, by introducing same-day delivery in seven major cities and expanding its Saturday delivery options. After Walmart.com cut the price of its top 10 pre-ordered titles to $10 (which includes free shipping) on Thursday, Amazon followed suit, and yesterday, both retailers dropped pricing on those 10 titles down to $9. Now, Amazon has announced it will begin offering same-day delivery in Baltimore, Boston, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Seattle and Washington, D.C. (it already offers the service in New York).

Amazon’s same-day shipping charge is $14.99, plus $3.99 per book. The cut-off time for ordering with same-day delivery ranges from 10:00 a.m. local time in New York and Philadelphia, to 1:00 p.m. local time in Seattle. Girish Lakshman, v-p of transportation at Amazon, said “We want to make online shopping as convenient as possible.” In addition to the same-day delivery service, the retailer will now deliver items ordered before the cut-off time on Thursday using two-day shipping on Saturday (instead of Monday).

Among the $9 titles is Going Rogue by Sarah Palin, due out from HarperCollins November 17. Amazon and Wal-Mart offer the book for $9, while BN.com and Borders.com are selling it for $17.39. The book's list price is $28.99. Other $9 hardcovers include Kindred in Death by J.D. Robb (Putnam), The Lacuna by Barbara Kingsolver (Harper) and Ford County by John Grisham (Doubleday).

Barnes & Noble New eReader

casalo Posted by casalo at 10:59 AM on October 11, 2009 Comments comments (0)

I recently read an article on Barnes and Noble's new ereader that will be hitting the scene shortly.

The ereader is said to have a touch screen with a virtual keyboard. Okay, now for someone like me who hits every button while the item is sitting in my purse, this could be a good thing, as long as it has a cover or keyboard lock on it. Supposedly the screen is in color as well, instead of the black and white Kindle.

Does the color of the screen matter to you?? For me, I'm thinking not really, if you have the option of black and white or color, that's okay, but it's not going to be a sale buster for me.

It needs to feel right in the palm of my hand and have the ease and comfort I'm looking for in order for me to buy it.

I'm curious as to how it's going to fair against Amazon's Kindle and the Sony ereader. Barnes and Noble is after all one of the biggest book sellers around.

I'm psyched that you can now log onto the Barnes and Noble website and find my ebooks!!

So tell me, what do you think?

Seasonal Allergies

allergies Pictures, Images and Photos

My head's pounding, my nose is stopped up and I just want to close my eyes and go back to sleep.

Sound familiar? It's hit everyone in the family different, the boy is coughing up the sinus excretions (gross), the man has a headache and you've read my symptoms above.

Yeppers, it's seasonal allergies. Hate it!! It's as annoying as the damn litle lovebugs that infest Florida in the spring and now in September.

Can I close my eyes and tap my heels together three times...Go away seasonal allergies, go away seasonal allergies, go away seasonal allergies.

*Eyes peek open* DAMN it didn't work, LOL. Maybe tomorrow!

Netbooks - Any Suggestions?

casalo Posted by casalo at 02:34 PM on September 13, 2009 Comments comments (0)

Okay, so I'm in the market for a netbook.

Any suggestions out there?

I've scanned the internet, reveiwed and even tried out a few.

Sleak, A touch pad that "doesn't" move the mouse when ever your hand slides over or shadows it, no protruding battery packs and something that "WILL" last for 8 hours like advertised.

I don't need alot of garbage on it. All I need it for is picking it and my flashdrive up to go to a quiet room to write, and take with me on road trips. Maybe get on to check emails and post blogs, but that's it. All the heavy stuff will still be done on the desk top.

I've tried the Acer, it's okay, but reviews are mixed. Honey says he likes the Asus because of the textured touch pad.

I know my best bet is to just hop in the car and go to Ocala to Best Buy and try them all out.

But I want the inside scoop if any of you have it, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.

Relaxation...isn't it a wonderful and NEEDED thing

casalo Posted by casalo at 04:29 PM on August 30, 2009 Comments comments (0)

corinevms

I'm not sure how many people do it, but getting a facial is just the most and quickest way I've found to not only reduce the stress but find a quick hour of rest and relaxation.

We all have those little life issues that we need to have a break from every once in a while so

I go once a month for an hour session, then usually have my nails done or something else. Hey we all have to spoil ourselves and this is the way C. A. does so. LOL.

ust imagine laying there, the slight scent of essential oils and low sounding relaxing music in the back ground. A soft cloth brushing across your face, fingers gently massaging, a steamed towel being placed from your color bone up to cover your face. Hands massaged and placed in heating gloves. And on it goes for the next hour.

Now that gets my fingers stimulated to where I'm looking for a key board afterward wanting to release some of the positive energies now flowing.

Yes, this is what I did yesterday. Then I went shopping, LOL. that's somehting I don't usually do. But I was in Wal-Mart anyways and decided to grab a pair of jeans. Why, well when I could pull my others up without unbuttoning or unzipping them, I figured it was time. HeheHaha.

That's right, C has lost two jean sizes in 4 months. I was hoping for more by now, but it's a coming!! :-) So I did a little proud celebrating shopping.

So what do you do to catch a little alone time, relax or rejuvinate the body mind and spirit?

Sexual Style by Sign

What Your Sign Says About Your Sex Life

By JUSTINE VAN DER LEUN

Sure, we've all read about how romantic or commitment-shy each zodiac sign is -- but do you know what a person's sign says about how they feel about sex? Who likes role-playing and who likes a bed of roses? Who needs a long warm-up session and who's ready for take-off after a peck on the cheek? With the help of Phyllis Vega, author of "Erotic Astrology: The Sex Secrets of Your Horoscope Revealed," we found out what your -- or your love interest's -- sign indicates about sexual style, turn-offs and turn-ons. Plus, find out which signs are sexually

compatible.

Aries

Sexual Style: Passionate and impatient, these lovers want to get down to business. They're not into wooing you with flowers and romance. They're actors, not dreamers, and they prefer a spicy, energetic romp to a drawn-out lovemaking session. "They want what they want, and they want it now," says Vega. If what they want is you, you'll have a partner dedicated to pleasing you between the sheets -- but you'd better not be into foreplay, because you're not going to get much.

Sexually Compatible Signs: Leo, Sagittarius, Gemini, Aquarius

Turn-ons: Anything different; aggressive partners. "Attack!" says Vega. "Subtly is totally lost on the Aries." As is the joy of a routine: The ram gets randy when exhilarated and surprised.

Turn-offs: The same-old, same-old. Scheduling sex every Tuesday and Thursday with your Aries is a sure-fire way to bore him to death.

~~~
Taurus
Sexual Style: Taureans want to be wined and dined and slowly seduced. These sensual lovers mull over their decisions, but once they've decided that you're the one, they'll want you and only you. The reliable and easy-going bull likes deliberate, uncomplicated sex, and possesses a libido that, once unleashed, lets her go all night.
Sexually Compatible Signs: Virgo, Capricorn, Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces
Turn-ons: "Taureans fall hook, line and sinker for all the traditional tools of seduction," says Vega. Just put high-thread-count sheets on the bed, some flowers in the room, pop open a bottle of fine wine and turn on the Barry White. The downside is that you may feel like you're setting up a 1970s-era love den, but the upside is that your Taurus love interest will probably be taking off her shirt by the second song.
Turn-offs: If you push her up against a wall or show up at her house in a kinky costume, your Taurus will probably run shrieking. These traditionalists aren't into hard come-ons or warped fun.
~~~

Gemini

Sexual Style: This cerebral, verbal sign is stimulated mentally first and physically second. Once you've got him excited, drag him into the bedroom before he gets distracted, since Gemini minds wander easily. Sex is sure to be hot and heavy, and probably pretty chatty. "They like to talk during sex; they like to talk about sex," says Vega. Lounging around makes those born under the sign of the twins nervous, so don't take it personally when your Gemini wants to get out of bed after he climaxes.

Sexually Compatible Signs: Libra, Aquarius, Aries, Leo, Sagittarius

Turn-ons: Steamy conversation and novelty. Tell him what you're going to do to him, and, better yet, make it something he's never had done before. Mix it up: A Gemini changes his mind often, so he may like rooftop action on Tuesday and a personal lap dance Wednesday.

Turn-offs: The dreaded cling. Don't act needy with a Gemini; though they can be happily monogamous, they want to at least feel free.

~~~
Cancer
Sexual Style: "Cancers don't just fall into bed," says Vega. For the most part, the extremely emotional crab wants a relationship, and once she has you in her claws, she doesn't want to let go. These intense, serious, possessive lovers zero in on one partner with whom to engage in all of their favorite sensual activities. While they may be shy initially, they're tender and deeply affectionate once they feel comfortable.
Sexually Compatible Signs: Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn, Scorpio, Pisces
Turn-ons: Some great food and loads of trust. Make your Cancer an elaborate meal and let her know she can be vulnerable with you, and you may just have her pleasing you forever.
Turn-offs: Whatever you do, don't hurt her feelings or even think about straying. The supersensitive Cancer is easily offended, and, since she has the best memory of all Zodiac signs, she will never forget precisely how you've screwed up.
~~~

Leo

Sexual Style: The self-mythologizing Leo wants to be a star and is as dramatic in bed as in life. The lion craves recognition and an audience, and if you keep applauding him, he'll keep satisfying you. "They want to be stroked, literally and physically," says Vega. These natural-born lovers are exceptionally sexual, inventive and devoted. They don't take no for an answer, so why bother? Give in, and let them put on a one-Leo show just for you.

Sexually Compatible Signs: Aries, Sagittarius, Gemini, Libra, Aquarius

Turn-ons: Endless flattery. Tell the magnetic Leo he is gorgeous, witty and fabulous in bed. His libido will skyrocket, and you'll reap the significant benefits.

Turn-offs: Bossiness. The Leo must be in charge, or at least think that he's in charge. So if you value your peace of mind, you won't try to tell your Leo what to do.

~~~
Virgo
Sexual Style: "Everyone thinks the Virgo is chaste, but they're just fastidious," says Vega. They like to get it on in a clean and lovely environment. They're sweet, romantic, orderly paramours who thrive in calm relationships and often prefer to be the less aggressive partner. Even though they may act shocked when you suggest something naughty, they're secretly thrilled. So coax your Virgo into that acrobatic contortion you read about in the "Kama Sutra" and as long as she doesn't pull her hamstring, she'll be as happy as you are.
Sexually Compatible Signs: Taurus, Capricorn, Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces
Turn-ons: Fresh sheets, a traditional courtship, routines. Treat them carefully, buy them fine gifts, read them poetry and generally work with their precious, old-fashioned sexual sensibilities.
Turn-offs: "Don't throw them on the ground and try to jump their bones," warns Vega. They're not interested in getting literally down and dirty.
~~~

Libra

Sexual Style: The sophisticated Libra is an intellectual and a perfectionist -- an excellent bedmate, if a bit detached. The high-minded sign approaches sex with a mental bent, and is often intrigued by erotica and new conceptual approaches to pleasure. He is open-minded but refined, so he'll probably go along with anything as long as it's not too gnarly. (Read: While he may wear a sleeveless butler costume, hardcore fetish play probably isn't a sure bet.)

Sexually Compatible Signs: Gemini, Aquarius, Aries, Leo, Sagittarius

Turn-ons: A well-decorated bedroom, the best of everything, a night on the town. The urbane Libra gets excited by a nice situation in which to get his subdued-but-considerable groove on. And he may be too polite to say so, but he really digs pricey gifts.

Turn-offs: "No gross hotel sex," orders Vega. You'd be best also to avoid taking your Libra camping or suggesting that he rough it in any way. Libras aren't interested in lovemaking under the stars unless they're in a luxury cabin with skylights.

~~~
Scorpio
Sexual Style: Everyone knows Scorpios are freaks, but not everyone understands that they are discerning freaks. The mysterious, intense Scorpio may be a horn-dog, but she prefers celibacy to milquetoast sex. She's interested in transformative lovemaking, not just 20 minutes of missionary. "It must be more than sex and love," says Vega. "It must be a greater connection." The sexy scorpion, who doesn't understand the phrase "shades of gray," is either totally uninterested in you or focused entirely on you. Once she has decided that you're the one, she'll show you undying love and darkly erotic action. If you want to be with a Scorpio, start working on your stamina, and brace yourself.
Sexually Compatible Signs: Cancer, Pisces, Gemini, Libra, Aquarius
Turn-ons: Understanding. When you know what your Scorpio sweetheart likes, do it for her. And if you're curious about bondage, this would be the sign to whom you could hopefully offer a rope and a whip. Scorpios aren't scared of a little kink.
Turn-offs: Naysayers, dullards and pushy people. If you think, or attempt to assert, that you're in control, the Scorpio will kick you to the curb. Got it?
~~~

Sagittarius

Sexual Style: This ardent, enthusiastic world traveler will make you feel like the only person in the world when he's in bed with you, but if he hears the call of the open road, you might as well enjoy the view as he leaves. Still, while you've got him, you're in for a grand time, as the Sagittarius is open, adventurous and committed to having fun. Expect him to get lusty when in a new and exciting place. "They please you and they want you to please them; they'll try anything, and they'll make love anywhere," says Vega.

Sexually Compatible Signs: Aries, Leo, Gemini, Libra, Aquarius

Turn-ons: Adventure. Make the archer pursue you. Try weird positions and exotic sexual techniques, preferably in far-off locales. Mile-high club, meet your newest members!

Turn-offs: Predictability. If you always want to stay at home and watch movies on Saturdays, your Sagittarius sweetums is going to shrivel up from boredom. Step away from the datebook and put down the remote if you want to get lucky later.

~~~
Capricorn
Sexual Style: These guys may seem like workaholics, but once you lure one into the bedroom, he'll show you that he plays just as hard. "The Capricorn is one of the most passionate signs, and nobody knows it," says Vega. Since the Capricorn lover is dependable, ambitious and responsible, he often sublimates his sexual desire. But underneath that professional exterior, he's ready for action. When he warms up, he's affectionate, straightforward and dedicated to pleasure. Bonus: He's got major endurance.
Sexually Compatible Signs: Taurus, Virgo, Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces
Turn-ons: Capricorns are attracted to smart, accomplished people who are willing to make the first move and have the patience to lure them away from work with sexy clothes, a romantic meal and sensual distractions. They love making dates and planning "sex nights" in advance.
Turn-offs: Spontaneity and weirdos. The goat doesn't like whimsical romps that interrupt his packed schedule any more than he likes getting busy with a person he considers unsuitable in the grand scheme of his life.
~~~

Aquarius

Sexual Style: Nobody can pin these freewheeling eccentrics down. And while none of these water bearers are alike, one thing they have in common is their intellectualism. The Aquarius libido rises in relation to her mental stimulation; she's willing to try anything if it sounds interesting. Your reserved, cool-headed Aquarian lover starts slow but can be worked into a wildly passionate state -- and once she's in it, you'll be blown away. But you can never possess an elusive Aquarian entirely, as they always hold something back.

Sexually Compatible Signs: Gemini, Aries, Leo, Sagittarius

Turn-ons: Conversation, unusual personalities, intellectual pursuits. As they have few qualms, they enjoy the span of bedroom activities from the ho-hum to the extra-pervy.

Turn-offs: If you're conventional type with neither a quirky bent nor a dark side, an Aquarian isn't going to give you the time of day. Also, don't try to fence her in: "If the Aquarian thinks you'll take away her freedom, she'll run for hills," says Vega.

~~~
Pisces
Sexual Style: This lover is a chameleon, able to shift his style according to your needs and desires. "They're physically magical," says Vega. "They're emotional, not intellectual." A Piscean sweetheart lacks practicality -- that, combined with their loving natures, enthusiasm for all things carnal and natural empathy makes them talented at pleasing others and accepting pleasure. What's naughty to another sign just seems like fun for the fish, and they approach bedroom romps with an open mind and an open heart, always expecting your time together to be fantastic.
Turn-ons: When you're happy, he's happy, so make sure to show your appreciation. Since they're dreamers, Pisces are often turned on by fantasy games, so get out that cheerleading costume and start stretching.
Turn-offs: Don't play it cool with your Pisces, or he'll lose his libido. A Piscean partner needs to get a response in the sack.
Is that hot or what!!!! Say it the way it is!! WOOT!!
I've looked through astrology books before and some were so off the mark it wasn't funny.
On the last day of the RT Convention they had Pshyic sessions on several different topics and the chance to sit down with tarot readers, ect...
I would much rather have a person read me, than the book. And yes, there were several ladies who hit me right on the money that day.
What do you say? Do you check everyday to see what might happen in your life, do you glance every now and then when you come across something, do you go to a pshyic or know someone who does readings?
Query Letter...OH DREAD ME!!
casalo Posted by casalo at 01:54 PM on August 16, 2009 Comments comments (0)
LOL, okay so most of us hate writing the ole' dreaded query letter, but it's such a necessity.
I was over at my friends house yesterday helping her get her query letter on track. She called in such a worry because she couldn't get past the first line.
She's published article after article on Sensory Processing Disorder, SPD.
Publishers send her books to review all the time or to just have for her library.
The publisher of the magazine she's been printed with found out about the series of manuscripts she'd written, about a little boy with SPD. Read the first three chapters and insisted she test market them.
These manuscripts have been read in front of several elementary classes at a local school to grade the result of how the teachers and children respond to them. One word AWESOME.
Her publisher insisted she put these writings in for publication...Wa-La the query letter comes in to play. LOL.
She was having such a "Brain Freeze" on how to write the query, she really couldn't get past the first sentence. So I told her. Don't worry, I'll come over and we'll brain storm together. It will be done by the time I leave.
Now I don't write children's books by any means, LOL and she loves my hot stuff :-)
So I knew this was going to be a fun night.
The kids were playing, she hands me a few papers, mostly what the publisher wants in the query, Woo-Hoo-, something to go by. Then as I flip, Lo and behold, there lies a query for the manuscript she'd written when she'd finished it three years ago.
I looked over and *durred *her. LOL. Her response was how much she hated it, it wasn't right, blah, blah, blah...you know the same thing us writers go through when it's our work.
So I'm looking over the 'old' query, the set of wants from the publisher and grab the pen.
She has everything the publisher wanted in the query all ready.
After making my marks, or take this out and put this in, I read it to her. In the meantime her sister showed up with the new and improved artwork. They read the book as I flipped with the pictures.
We tweeked the query a bit more, had a glass if wine while doing so and by the time the wine was gone, three heads brain storming, her husband chuckling at the three hens giggling and going off subject by exercising agaisnt the door or flopping down on the floor to show a new butt toner. Kids running in, through and past us with nets, remote controlled cars, rough housing in the living room and us laughing up a storm. So what happened ...
WA-LA - One FINISHED query letter and a rolling good time!!
The goal has been set to have her manuscript in the mail by Wednesday and I'm holding them to that goal.
What a wonderful way to spend a Saturday night.
So POOH on you ole' query letter, we'll fix you.
LOL.
